Help & Answers

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about LabPlix pathology lab software, machine interfacing, automated reporting, billing, and NABL compliance.

General & Architecture

What is LabPlix?

LabPlix is an intelligent Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and pathology reporting software platform developed by Woctor. It provides diagnostic laboratories with automated sample registration, barcode labeling, analyzer machine interfacing, digital pathologist verification, instant WhatsApp report delivery, and GST billing.

Who develops LabPlix?

LabPlix is developed by Woctor (https://woctor.com), a healthcare technology company creating connected digital software solutions across clinics (MDPlix), pathology laboratories (LabPlix), and pharmacies.

What types of diagnostic labs can use LabPlix?

LabPlix is engineered for standalone clinical pathology labs, diagnostic centers, hospital-attached clinical laboratories, specialized histopathology centers, and multi-branch diagnostic chains with satellite collection networks.

Is LabPlix cloud-based or does it require local servers?

LabPlix is a 100% cloud-based SaaS platform. You can access it securely from any modern web browser on desktop PCs, laptops, tablets, or smartphones without the expense of local server hardware or manual database backups.

How does LabPlix differ from offline desktop pathology software?

Unlike legacy desktop software or manual MS Word typing, LabPlix offers automated bidirectional analyzer interfacing, automatic cloud backups, instant WhatsApp report PDF dispatch, role-based pathologist digital signatures, multi-branch visibility, and tamper-proof audit trails.

Pathology Reporting & Delivery

How does pathology report generation work in LabPlix?

LabPlix comes pre-configured with standard clinical test profiles, reference ranges for different age groups and genders, and normal biological intervals. Technicians can enter values or have them sync automatically from machines; the software flags abnormal and critical panic values automatically for pathologist review.

Does LabPlix support digital signatures for pathologists?

Yes. Authorized pathologists can upload their digital signatures. Once test results are verified and approved, the signature is automatically placed on the report with verification timestamps.

How does automated WhatsApp report delivery work?

As soon as a report is authorized and signed off by the pathologist, LabPlix sends a branded WhatsApp message to the patient and consulting physician containing a secure link to download the high-resolution PDF report.

Can we customize report letterheads, headers, and footers?

Yes. LabPlix allows full customization of laboratory report layouts, including custom headers, logos, NABL accreditation emblems, watermarks, footer disclaimers, and QR verification codes.

Does LabPlix automatically flag abnormal and critical panic values?

Yes. When test values fall outside established biological reference ranges, they are highlighted visually in bold or colored flags. Critical panic values trigger immediate alerts so urgent clinical notifications can be made without delay.

Machine Interfacing (CBC & Analyzers)

What is machine interfacing in LabPlix?

Machine interfacing is an electronic data link connecting diagnostic instruments (such as CBC hematology analyzers and biochemistry machines) directly with LabPlix, transferring results electronically without manual typing.

What is the difference between uni-directional and bi-directional interfacing?

In uni-directional interfacing, the machine pushes results to LabPlix after testing. In bi-directional interfacing, LabPlix also downloads test worklists to the analyzer by barcode, so technicians do not have to program sample test orders manually into the instrument.

Which analyzer brands and models are supported by LabPlix?

LabPlix supports major diagnostic equipment manufacturers including Mindray, Sysmex, Horiba, Erba Mannheim, Beckman Coulter, Roche, Abbott, Transasia, and others communicating via RS-232, TCP/IP, ASTM, or HL7 protocols.

How does barcode sample matching work with machines?

At sample collection, LabPlix generates a unique barcoded sticker for each sample vial. When the analyzer scans the vial's barcode, it automatically associates the test result with the correct patient chart in LabPlix.

Histopathology & Biopsy Workflows

Does LabPlix support histopathology and biopsy reporting?

Yes. LabPlix includes a specialized histopathology narrative module designed for surgical pathology, fine-needle aspirations (FNAC), and biopsy reporting with structured gross and microscopic description fields.

Can pathologists attach microscopic photos to histology reports?

Yes. High-resolution photomicrographs and macroscopic tissue photos can be uploaded and embedded directly into the final PDF diagnostic report.

Does LabPlix support cancer staging and grading classifications?

Yes. LabPlix provides structured templates for TNM staging, Nottingham histological grading, surgical margin clearance evaluation, and synoptic cancer reporting protocols.

Billing, GST & Doctor Referrals

Is LabPlix diagnostic billing GST-compliant?

Yes. LabPlix generates GST-ready diagnostic bills and receipts with HSN/SAC codes, CGST/SGST/IGST breakdowns, multiple payment methods (Cash, UPI, Card), and partial payment tracking.

How does doctor referral and incentive tracking work?

LabPlix automates B2B referral tracking. You can configure referring doctor commission percentages (flat or test-wise), track referred patient volumes, generate transparent settlement vouchers, and provide doctors with a portal to view their patients' reports.

Can we create custom health checkup packages and profiles?

Yes. You can bundle multiple individual tests into discounted executive health checkups, diabetic profiles, or master health packages with specialized pricing.

Does LabPlix support collection center accounting and B2B ledgers?

Yes. Satellite collection centers and franchise labs can have dedicated financial ledgers, sample transit manifests, and credit settlement statements.

Quality Control, Security & NABL

How does LabPlix assist with NABL (ISO 15189) accreditation?

LabPlix provides tamper-proof audit trails, digital pathologist verification timestamps, Levey-Jennings (L-J) QC charts, reference interval documentation, and complete sample chain-of-custody tracking required for NABL compliance.

Does LabPlix generate Levey-Jennings (L-J) quality control charts?

Yes. Lab technicians can log daily control values (Normal, Low, High) and view automated Levey-Jennings charts with Westgard multirule warnings for quality assurance.

Are patient diagnostic records secure and private?

Yes. All diagnostic data is encrypted both in transit (256-bit SSL) and at rest. Strict role-based access control (RBAC) ensures only authorized staff members can view sensitive patient information.

Deployment, Migration & Support

How quickly can our pathology lab get started with LabPlix?

Because LabPlix is cloud-based and comes pre-loaded with standard test templates and reference ranges, most standalone labs can go live within 24 to 48 hours.

Can we migrate our existing patient records and test menu to LabPlix?

Yes. The LabPlix onboarding team assists in importing your existing patient history, customized test parameters, doctor referral lists, and price master files.

How can I request a live demo or contact sales?
